In the wake of the January 2010 earthquake that ravaged Haiti, God called us to develop a children's home outside of the environs of Port au Prince. The new home will shelter and serve hundreds of homeless and orphaned children. God's vision to us was confirmed when He led us to a wonderful site
overlooking the Étang Saumâtre, a large and beautiful lake in the Haitian countryside.
Étang Saumâtre is located on the arid part of the valley Cul-de-Sac, 29 kilometers (18 mi) east of Port-au-Prince. Its eastern side is part of the border between Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
The lake is fed by stream waters flowing from the nearby mountains and supports a fishery and several towns and villages on its shores. The site will be a safe area for children to grow and develop.
Phase 1 of the project consists of land acquisition, installing water wells, and constructing a perimeter wall around the school ground. We are pleased to report that successful negotiations are ongoing for the purchase of the land. Phase 2 will be the development of the interior grounds and buildings. Our 25 years of experience and trusted partners in Haiti allow us to immediately proceed forward with development as funds become available.
Please prayerfully consider partnering with us by joining our Loaves and Fishes Program. This program allows you to become a regular supporter of this new call in our ministry. With your financial help, together we can bring God's loving care into the lives of the most needy of Haiti's children.
"Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked." Psalm 82:3-4
